TIPS TO DELIVER A GREAT SPEECH
BASIC TIPS
- All the good speakers are good readers. Without reading a lot you can never deliver a good speech.
- Also, we have to improve our listening skills. These reading and listening skills can contribute to a good speech when you start taking notes.
- An additional pinch of salt can ruin our food, like an extra word used in a good speech can create a negative impact. So, be clear with the topic and be short and precise.
- Reading the newspaper loudly for 30 mins can improve our pronunciation and make it clear.
- One should not add simply the quotes of great people in between the speech. Instead, we can comment or add our own concept in that quote and deliver it uniquely.
- To get healthy attention from the audience, we have to execute the same concept which everyone spoke about in a different perspective (i.e. Think out of the box).
- The usage of each word should be in a proper way.
- Perfect communication is when a small sentence creates a greater impact.
- As a beginner, we have to take short notes for the speech. After that, you can speak without any preparation.
- The time of delivery is important. Even though you are having a good script of different emotions, delivering it with bad harmony can make your speech worst.
- Even though it is relative to the content, making many own experienced statements is not good because it may seem to the audience like your biography.
STAGE MANNERS
- Stand naturally, as always how you stand. Don't act like someone else.
- Your eye should stay in contact with everyone and avoid seeing the same person throughout the speech.
- The unnecessary motion of the body should be cramped.
- Adjusting of dress, stooping on the table, holding the mike should be avoided.
- Avoid telling the known concept with a common perspective.
- I Mean, Actually, To be precise, To be frank, are the common fillers that are used to extend some time and to remember the content prepared. This should be avoided.
Based on preparation, the speech is divided into three types
- EXTEMPORE Speech: Starting a speech as the topic is given without any preparation.
- IMPROMPTU Speech: Taking some small notes about the topic and executing it well without practicing.
- PREPARED Speech: Making a well-prepared script and practicing it well to deliver a good speech.
Even though you have grown your ability to speak as soon as the topic is given without any preparation, a well-prepared speech is always good and healthy. To know the importance of public speaking, take a small glance over the list of great leaders of India because,
